Bed Every Night Scheme, Radcliffe

Overview

The Radcliffe Bed Every Night Scheme is one of the projects we’re most proud of – not because it’s the largest in the portfolio, but because of what it does. Eleven self-contained bedsits in Radcliffe, our home town, providing safe, stable accommodation for people who find themselves with nowhere else to go.

The scheme was developed to support local authority efforts to reduce rough sleeping and provide a dignified alternative for people in genuine housing crisis.

The Detail

The building comprises eleven self-contained bedsits, each providing a private, secure space during what is often the most difficult period in a person’s life. The configuration supports on-site management and the delivery of support services, while ensuring every resident has their own space and a degree of privacy.

Since opening in 2020, the scheme has housed hundreds of people — people who might otherwise have been sleeping rough or in entirely unsuitable circumstances.

The Outcome

This scheme is evidence that property investment and social purpose are not in competition. A well-run building in the right location, managed in partnership with experienced support providers, can make a genuine difference to people’s lives. In Radcliffe, it already has.
